What medium suits my needs?
This very much a personal decision based on your style and budget but here's some information that may help you decide.
Canvas is great for all images, especially images with bright vivid colors and sharp detail. Stretched canvas raises photos off the wall and gives a unique texture, all without a soft texture and no glare. Canvas can be damaged if dropped or poked. Canvas prints have a protective coating that defends from UV rays and fingerprints and provides a water-resistant base, so you can dry wipe the surface with a cloth. All canvas prints are shipped "ready to hang".
Metal offers a modern look while enhancing your image and displaying it in stunning high quality, brilliance and shine. It’s durable and archival, ensuring your artwork lasts. You don’t have to worry about a piece fading in the sunlight or getting water damage while cleaning it. You also don’t need to use a frame when you choose to print on metal. Instead of printing a layer of ink onto a surface, metal art involves a printing process called dye sublimation that infuses the ink into the surface of the metal. This process gets applied to a sheet of aluminum, and then heat sealed to create a durable finish.
Acrylic photo prints offer a professional, vibrant image with a unique look. This is why they are often found in lobbies and offices. It is considered to be a more true to the actual colors of the original image. The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results, but they have a degree of glare depending on where they are placed. Acrylic prints are durable as the aren’t susceptible to rips and tears like a print or canvas would be. They’re also shatter-resistant and offer scratch-resistance as well. An acrylic print can protect the photo’s inks since it guards against ultraviolet (UV) light damage. The acrylic layer also makes it waterproof. This allows you to use any standard household glass cleaner on your print.
Wood used for our prints are eco-friendly. The wood is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which regulates impact on the environment. The photo is direct printed onto the wood for a clear and vibrant reproduction. Wood is warm and softens the contrast, creating a charming feel. This could be especially good for an image with bright whites or light colors. The grain shows through, adding a rustic vibe to the image. Wood is extremely durable and easy to clean with a damp sponge.
